It's not the same for everyone, I know that's a shock for some. I was 16 and knew exactly what it meant for me. I made on conscious decision based on facts. i have been studying with jehovah's witnesses for approximately two years.
initially, i liked the studies and felt that i was growing closer to god.
however, as the studies progressed, they seemed to become increasingly negative and i did not like what i was being taught.
Maria, by stopping your studies you will force their hand and they will show you just how conditional their friendships are. Once they do you won't have any problem seeing where their loyalty lies. In reality you are a notch on someone's belt.

Not in anyone's defense but I don't believe that 1986 article gave any names or stated anything about "certain Governing Body members".
It's not right to refer to something that may be assumed but is NOT written. I think it said, "prominent ones" and did not name names. There have been many "prominent ones" who were not Gov Body members in addition to the non prosecuted and non-convicted persons named by Caminante. Lurkers may look up the reference and see that assumptions are being read as quoted material, thus losing any faith in the comments found here.
